The rumours were true. The newly-announced line-up for the Coachella Festival 2016 confirms that the much-discussed reunion of Guns N’ Roses will indeed take place as the event’s Saturday night centrepieces, on both April 16 and 23.
As usual, the festival takes place over two weekends in Indio, California, 15-17 and 22-24 April. G N’ R will celebrate the new rapprochement between Axl Rose and Slash in two headline performances. LCD Soundsystem will headline the Friday bills, 15 and 22 April, with Calvin Harris closing the event on both 17 and 24 April.
The two Fridays will also feature such major names as Ellie Goulding, Sufjan Stevens, Underworld, the Kills, Foals and the Last Shadow Puppets. On the Saturdays, G N’ R’s return will be preceded by sets from Ice Cube, Disclosure, Zedd, A$AP Rocky, Chvrches, James Bay, Courtney Barnett, Bat For Lashes and many more.
The Sunday bills will also star Sia, Major Lazer, Flume, Beach House, The 1975, Rancid, Miike Snow, Chris Stapleton, Wolf Alice and countless others. Tickets for Coachella 2016 will go on sale tomorrow (6 January) at 11am PST.
