Malaysian pop star and R&B sensation Yuna offers a dreamy take on Post Malone’s towering hit ‘Better Now’.

With her silky vocals and downbeat loops, the singer-songwriter turns Malone’s love-lorn radio smash into an intimate break-up song. The stripped-down version also shows Yuna’s talent in the studio, as she programs effects and adds layers and layers of her own vocals on the spot.

After the video took off online, an official version was released on all streaming services and Yuna shared why she chose the single.

“I love ‘Better Now’,” says the singer. “It’s such a great song that when I listened to it one time I remembered all the words.”

The LA-based singer-songwriter has developed a cult following under-the-radar with three critically acclaimed albums: Yuna (2012), Nocturnal (2013) and most recently Chapters (2016), featuring her break-out duet with Usher, ‘Crush’.

The multi-talented singer has collaborated with others in the hip-hop and R&B worlds including the rapper G-Eazy and super producer Pharrell Williams. She also scored a hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart with ‘Best Love’ also from Chapters.

“Better Now’ is now nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance at this year’s Grammys, and is just one of the nominees the singer-rapper has picked up this year for his album Beerbongs & Bentleys. Despite being a rapper, much of Malone’s work borders on pop and his other smash hit from 2018, ‘Rockstar’ is also up for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

The song was also covered by Australian pop artist Troye Sivan earlier this year for a Spotify Singles session.

Yuna recently announced she’ll be touring Europe in spring 2019 with tickets on sale now.
