“Too Cute To Be Lonely” draws inspiration from ABBA, Madonna and Robyn, bringing a more dancefloor-oriented sound to Humberstone’s alt-pop songwriting. Weinberg previously worked with Humberstone and her sister Eleri Humberstone on the visual world surrounding Cruel World, and the new video continues its dark fairytale narrative. Humberstone described the deluxe material as a continuation of the album’s story. “To me the fairytale doesn’t end, it just turns a page to a new chapter. Cruel World was a journey of self discovery and finding my confidence in my voice, the songs within So It Ends feel more confident and self assured.”
Humberstone will take Cruel World on a UK and Ireland tour in January 2027, with Chloe Qisha supporting throughout. The run will culminate at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Jan. 26. Before then, Humberstone is also scheduled to support Gracie Abrams at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in December 2026. The dates follow a summer that included appearances at Reading & Leeds, Summer Sonic, Mad Cool, All Things Go and Governors Ball, as well as a British Summer Time show supporting The War On Drugs.
Released in April, Cruel World debuted at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart and has since accumulated more than 83 million streams. Humberstone followed the album earlier this summer with it’s a real Cruel World, an EP featuring new versions of “White Noise,” “Red Chevy,” “Cruel World” and “To Love Somebody.” Her previous releases include the EPs Falling Asleep At The Wheel and The Walls Are Way Too Thin, along with her 2023 debut album Paint My Bedroom Black. She won the BRIT Rising Star award in 2022.
