Jon Pardi’s Heartache Medication, which is nominated as Album of the Year at the 2020 CMA Awards, is now available in a Deluxe Edition from Capitol Nashville. It includes three new bonus tracks, “Bar Downtown,” “Beer Light” and “Ain’t Always The Cowboy (Western Version)” and marks the first anniversary of the original album release. It’s also a year since Pardi played his first, back-to-back headlining shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
The artist co-produced all three of the new tracks, teaming again with Bart Butler and Ryan Gore. “Bar Downtown” premiered on Rolling Stone Country on Thursday.
Heartache Medication is CMA-nominated alongside Ashley McBryde’s Never Will, Old Dominion’s self-titled album, Luke Combs’ What You See Is What You Get and Miranda Lambert’s Wildcard. Pardi’s album was praised by the New York Times for its blend of “honky-tonkin’, boot-stompin’ tracks about whiskey, women and song.” The newspaper also said that he “cut a path through modern country by stubbornly sticking to fiddles, steel guitar, and dive-bar jukebox energy.”
Pardi also has a current nomination for Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Awards, for his role on the country No.1 “Beer Can’t Fix” with Thomas Rhett. The show airs will air on October 21 at 8pm ET/7PM CT on CMT, MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop, and TV Land.
It’s Pardi Time
