Justin Bieber returns with episode 2 of his 10-part YouTube docuseries Seasons, where he shares exclusive behind-the-scenes footage around his new album.
The global superstar plays drums, acoustic guitar and piano, as the episode sheds a light on his months-long recording process for his new album, Changes.
The singer-songwriter recently announced the album’s new title and release date, 14 February, along with a supporting tour.
The clip features Bieber’s longtime producer/mixer/engineer Josh Gudwin, who oversees the recording process and keeping Bieber on schedule.
“Josh is kind of the recording Sherpa,” says Allison Kaye, part Bieber’s management team. “Josh is really the only one in the room, cutting him and vocal producing him and helping him pick the songs. Josh is a very integral part of Justin making music and has been since the beginning. There isn’t an album Justin has worked on that Josh hasn’t been a part of with him.”
Bieber’s wife Hailey Bieber returns in the clip, talking about supporting her husband in the studio even if it’s until 3 or 4 in the morning. Kendall Jenner also makes a cameo in the episode, as Hailey talks about bringing friends into the studio to hang out.
“I just feel at home wherever he is, so if he’s holed up in the studio, that feels like home to me,” says Hailey.
The series second episode also features a sneak-peak of what Bieber’s new album will sound like, as he rehearses takes in the booth.
Justin Bieber: Seasons will air new episodes every Monday and Wednesday at noon ET. YouTube Premium users get advance access to watch the first four episodes of the docuseries, while free subscribers only have access to the first two.
‘Bieber is Back’, follows the series debut episode, ‘Leaving The Spotlight’, that aired on Monday, 27 January. In that episode, Bieber returned to his hometown in Ontario, Canada and talked about taking a break from his demanding touring schedule and the public eye.
