Lamont Landers Releases ‘For the Record’
The latest song from the emerging soul and southern rock artist follows the earlier single ‘Lonely Girl,’ co-written by Chris Stapleton.
The emerging soul and southern rock artist Lamont Landers has shared a new single called “For the Record.” The song and an accompanying music video are out now via Lucille Records, Dave Cobb’s imprint under MCA.
Co-written by Landers, Cobb, Tom Gimbel, Patrick Gray, Jaraven Hill, Alexander Powell, and LaJuan Winfield, the track leans into a playful confidence, delivering lyrics about first-class flights, fast cars and always coming in first.
“For the Record” follows “Lonely Girl,” written by country music legend Chris Stapleton and Jesse Frasure, which embraces Landers’ signature powerhouse vocal. He recently performed the song and spoke about his whirlwind year with The Bobby Bones Show.

Landers recently made his AMERICANAFest debut in Nashville. He’s been performing across the city, from City Winery to the Bluebird Cafe and the Grand Ole Opry. Landers has also previously performed at Showtime at the Apollo, making him part of an exclusive group of artists who have graced both the Apollo and the Grand Ole Opry, including James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mavis Staples, Blind Boys of Alabama, Elvis Costello and Darius Rucker.
Last year, Landers released Introducing… Lamont Landers in September. Cobb produced the seven-track project, whose songs include “America,” “Golden Skies,” “Devil Is Alive And Well,” “How Long (Until The Rain Is Gone),” “Love’s Got The Best Of Us,” and “Lotta Love,” which soundtracked the Season 10 finale of Netflix’s Love Is Blind. The album closes on its most personal note: “I Have Always Loved You,” a message to his daughter. “It’s overwhelming, the depth of feeling you have for your child,” Lamont has said. “Being a dad is the greatest thing in the world, and this song is my way of saying that to her.”
Fresh off dates with Alabama Shakes, Landers will soon hit the road for a headline run across the Southeast and Midwest. Those dates kick off September 24 at The Burl in Lexington, Kentucky and conclude November 14 at C-Boy’s Heart & Soul in Austin, Texas.
