Watch Nine Inch Nails’ Live Video Of ‘Metal’ Featuring Gary Numan

Directed by Brooke Linder, the footage was shot during NIN’s run of shows at The Joint in Las Vegas in June.

Nine Inch Nails have shared a live video of their cover of Gary Numan’s ‘Metal’ and it features a surprise appearance by Gary Numan himself. Fan-shot video of the collaboration was uploaded in the days after the gig, but now official pro-shot footage by director Brook Linder has come online. You can watch it above here.

The performance was recorded at the band’s show at The Joint in Las Vegas in June 2018 where, in addition to Numan, NIN also treated fans to versions of the Trent Reznor/David Bowie single ‘I’m Afraid of Americans’ as well as Joy Division’s ‘Digital’ and debuted ‘Ahead Of Ourselves’ from their new six-track mini-album Bad Witch. The band originally covered the Gary Numan song for their 2000 remix LP Things Falling Apart.

Nine Inch Nails released the six-track Bad Witch last month. The record marks the third and final instalment in a trilogy series that began in December 2016 with the Not the Actual Events EP and continued in July 2017 with the Add Violence EP.

Trent Reznor and company are currently nearing the end of a European tour, after which they head to Japan. They will return to North America in September for their Cold and Black and Infinite Tour alongside The Jesus and Mary Chain.
