Rod Stewart Heading Down Under Next Year
Rod Stewart shows no signs of easing up on his touring itinerary, with news that he will take his ‘The Hits Tour’ to Australia and New Zealand in 2015, after more shows in Las Vegas soon.
Stewart has announced nine dates in Australia and New Zealand, in arenas and wineries, starting on March 21 next year, as he continues the momentum from his hugely successful 2013 album ‘Time.’
The shows are promoted by Frontier Touring, reports Billboard, and include shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Dunedin, Auckland as well as an outdoor concert at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley. Stewart is also booked to play Hanging Rock in Macedon.
“I’m thrilled to be returning to Australia and New Zealand next year,” says Rod. “The audiences are some of the best in the world and I’m looking forward to being at my most Scottish for my first ever concert in Dunedin.” Tickets go on general sale on September 16.
Before that, Stewart heads back to Las Vegas for two big runs of shows at Caesars Palace, the first from September 20 to October 5, the second from November 5 to November 23. Long-running rumours persist of a possible reunion of the Faces, including Stewart and fellow original members Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan, next year.
Meanwhile, here’s the official video for ‘Brighton Beach,’ one of the most popular tracks on the ‘Time’ album.
