“De Una Vez,” Selena Gomez’s first Spanish-language single in a decade, has finally arrived, alongside a stunning music video. Fans have eagerly awaited the song, following teasers from the artist, and a mysterious billboard campaign across Mexico. The uplifting anthem marks Gomez’s second Spanish-language single, following 2010’s “Un Año Sin Lluvia.”

Embracing her heritage as a proud Latina, Gomez wanted to immerse herself in the culture, enlisting some of the industry’s most influential Latin creators to work on the song, including powerhouse producer Tainy (J. Balvin, Bad Bunny), Albert Hype, and Jota Rosa. The song’s accompanying music video, meanwhile, was directed by Tania Verduzco and Adrián Pérez of Los Pérez.

Mirroring the song’s themes of personal healing, empowerment, and love, the visual offers a metaphor for Selena’s personal and creative growth – as embodied by a mythical house. As Gomez explores the house, she enters fantastical new rooms that represent her evolution.

“I am incredibly proud of my Latin background,” declared Gomez in a statement. “It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again and ‘De Una Vez’ is such a beautiful love anthem.”

Last year, the recording artist, actress, executive producer, and social activist was honored by The Latin Recording Academy, who named her as one of 2020’s “Leading Ladies of Entertainment.” Gomez also received the Arts Award from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.

At the top of 2020, Gomez released her first studio album in five years, Rare. The critically-acclaimed album debuted at No.1 in the US, and topped the charts in Mexico, Canada, and Australia, among other territories. Rare, and its deluxe edition, also spawned several popular singles, including “Boyfriend,” “Look at Her Now,” and “Lose You to Love Me.”

In August, Gomez collaborated with K-POP sensations BLACKPINK on their Top 20 single, “Ice Cream.”

Outside of the recording studio, Gomez has been busy flexing her muscles as a producer. Last year, she oversaw the second season of her popular cooking show, Selena + Chef, with HBO Max. Later this year, fans can catch Gomez in the new Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. Gomez not only executive produced the series but stars alongside comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short.
