After dropping hits on Instagram last night that “something exciting is coming tomorrow,” the singer officially shared the news of the forthcoming album today 21 November, along with a montage of her music videos.
“You can now pre-order my new album, out January 10, 2020. This album is my diary from the past few years and I can’t wait for you to hear it. Title, art and track list coming soon.”
Fans of the multi-platinum artist have been calling her new project ‘SG2’ for some time, ever since she spoke about working a new project in interviews. The album’s title SG2 and cover art are temporary, but the official details will be shared soon.

The first single from the new album, ‘Lose You To Love Me’ marked a historic moment for the singer after she landed her first No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Gomez co-wrote ‘Lose You To Love Me’ with Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter and Mattias Larsson.
Following up the emotional ballad, Gomez dropped the infectious dance-pop track ‘Look At Her Now’. Upon release, Gomez said it was a “special gift to all of her fans” and thanked them for “pushing her to be her best”. Gomez also co-wrote the song with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter as well as Ian Kirkpatrick.
The tentatively titled, 13-track album will be available on variety of formats including: standard CD, a box set with custom photos, a limited-edition autographed CD, and vinyl in multiple colours.
