Taking Back Sunday have shared a new single and confirmed a raft of UK headline dates due to take place next summer.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, the New York band will celebrate their 20th anniversary next year and previously announced details of a compilation to mark the occasion, fittingly titled Twenty. The record, which will be released through Craft Recordings on 11 January, will feature two new recordings alongside favourites from across their back catalogue.
The brand new songs will be titled ‘A Song For Dan’ and ‘All Ready To Go’, the latter of which has now been shared online. You can check it out below.
On the process of recording ‘All Ready To Go,’ singer Adam Lazzara told Broadway World, “This song is a great example of how in tune we have become with one another, our collective musical instincts. It was an idea Mark and Shaun laid the bones down for in New York and then sent them down to Charlotte, where John and I continued to arrange and add our individual contributions.
“This made for a great demo and a fair amount of time for everyone to sit with it before we all were able to get in the studio together and hash out the different parts and details with one another. It sounds like a lot when I say it like that, but the process itself was a cohesive and relatively quick one. Having the space to live and breathe with the idea before all coming together to shape it, and knowing where we can lean on one another as the song progresses is both insightful and exciting to all of us. It’s one of my favorite parts of being in Taking Back Sunday.”
In June 2019, the four-piece will return to the UK and Ireland for the first time since February 2017 for a seven-date tour Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday, 7 December and for further information, you can head to the band’s official website.
