Following their short-lived retirement, The Go-Go’s announced they’ll be hitting the road this summer to support their forthcoming Showtime documentary, The Go-Go’s.
Kicking off on 25 June at Humphreys in San Diego, CA, the LA rock legends will perform at intimate venues across North America, giving fans the chance to see the band up close and personal. Other stops include Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey and the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, 24 January at 10am local time with the Los Angeles dates going on sale next Friday, 31 January at 10am PT.
Directed by Alison Wood (History of the Eagles, Magic Trip: Ken Kesey’s Search for a Kool Place and American Jihad). The Go Go’s chronicles the band’s early beginnings in the LA punk scene and their subsequent meteoric rise to fame, when they became the most successful female rock band of all time.
Featuring new interviews with the band, Wood was given unprecedented access to the group and their rich archives to fully explore the group’s place in music history and the dynamics behind their rise, fall and numerous reincarnations.
Previously, The Go’s Go’s had wrapped up their farewell tour in 2016 before licensing their songs to the jukebox music Head Over Heels, that debuted on Broadway in 2018.
The documentary feature will make its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, 24 January before it heads to Showtime.
