Listen To Trueblood’s New Single ‘Paint A Picture’

Trueblood has released the new single “Paint A Picture” via Mercury Records. It’s the first preview of the Southern California band’s forthcoming debut EP, First Impressions. The EP is due Friday, September 18.

The four-piece consists of teenage brothers Cameron Trueblood on drums, Dylan Trueblood on guitar, Mason Trueblood on vocals and guitar, and Ethan Trueblood on bass. “Paint A Picture” is built around a grungy lead guitar line, a prominent bass part, steady drums, and palm-muted guitar figures. Mason handles the lead vocal as the arrangement moves from more restrained verses into a larger refrain before closing with a final burst of distortion.

The release follows Trueblood’s recent single “Make It Out,” which has reached 1.4 million Spotify streams. Its visualizer has also drawn 281,000 views on YouTube. Billboard and Melodic Magazine have covered the band, with the latter describing “Make It Out” as a song about appearing composed while struggling internally. Music Connection Magazine also reviewed a recent San Diego show and wrote, “The next generation of great rock bands is here.”

Trueblood first built an audience through viral TikTok covers that have generated more than 1 billion views, with that activity later translating into tens of millions of streams. That grassroots run preceded the band’s signing to Mercury Records. The band sold out an eight-show West Coast headline run, culminating in a 600-capacity hometown date at SOMA in San Diego. Recently, Trueblood opened for The All-American Rejects at an intimate backyard performance, where frontman Tyson Ritter joined the band onstage for “Move Along.” In spring 2026, The New York Times profiled the four brothers, focusing on their TikTok growth, fanbase, and experience building a band together. Trueblood has also received co-signs from Coldplay, Maroon 5, the Goo Goo Dolls, sombr, Laufey, and Lil Tecca.
