U2 Unveil ‘Films Of Innocence’
A total of 11 art films, each one inspired by a track on the U2 album ‘Songs Of Innocence,’ has been unveiled today under the collective title ‘Films Of Innocence.’
The films have been made by the world’s most acclaimed urban visual artists, and have premiered across 11 platforms for 24 hours starting at 4pm GMT today (December 8). They will then be removed from the individual platforms and be made commercially available via iTunes and Amazon. Subscribers to the U2 website will receive an exclusive bonus in the form of Conor Harington’s visual interpretation of the bonus track on the ‘Songs Of Innocence’ album, ‘Crystal Ballroom.’
The artists behind the films are Oliver Jeffers, Robin Rhode, D*Face, Mode 2, Chloe Early, Ganzeer, Vhils, Maser, ROA, DALeast, and Todd James. With the political murals of Northern Ireland as a reference point, the artists had complete creative freedom to display their own responses to the music of the Irish rock giants, in a series of films that combine animation and live action.
