Watch The Video For Mumford & Sons’ ‘Guiding Light’

‘Guiding Light’ is the first single to be taken from the band’s new album ‘Delta’, due for release on 16 November.

Mumford & Sons have released a new official video for Guiding Light, the first single released from their fourth album Delta, due for release on 16 November.

Recorded at Church Studios in London and produced by Paul Epworth, Delta is described as “a record of differing shades, colours and textures.”

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac about Guiding Light, Marcus Mumford said: “It was a bit of a beast to try and get on record. It was hard work. We kind of tried it in loads of different ways…this one took a while. We wrote it like a year ago, but it’s taken a while to just get it to that point and now we’re happy with it.”

Whereas 2015’s Wilder Mind focussed more on the anthemic, Delta is reportedly a more “tender listen, [that is] introspective and reflective” whilst still marrying with “ecstatic stadium-sized dynamics.”

Speaking about Delta to Annie Mac, the band’s Winston Marshall added: “I think at the beginning [of recording the album] we kind of fell back in love with the old instruments we didn’t play on ‘Wilder Mind’ like the acoustic stuff and the more folky instruments but [we were] conscious [about] how we can make these instruments sound not like these instruments which opened up a whole new world for us…”
