Mary J. Blige is marking the November 24 release of her hotly-anticipated new album ‘The London Sessions’ by announcing a collection of “top five” lists that feature a heavy British influence. We’ve put together an exclusive uDiscover playlist from her personal selections.
The first five songs in the list are Mary J’s choice of the top five songs by British artists — Sam Smith, Adele, Disclosure and Amy Winehouse — that influenced the new album. Smith and Disclosure both collaborate with Blige on ‘The London Sessions,’ which also features Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy and the emerging Sam Romans and Jimmy Napes. Then we’ve added two songs by each of the stars in her “five favourite artists” list, including two guest appearances by Mary herself, with Elton John and Sting.

Her residency in London to record the album also leads Mary to list dinner at the Ivy restaurant and running in Hyde Park among her favourite things to do, along with observing the city from the top of Primrose Hill, afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason and lunch at Sushi Samba. She also reveals that her top five forms of therapy are singing, writing, music, food and exercise.
