Queen‘s Greatest Hits collection and Billie Eilish‘s When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? are the two best-selling selling UK vinyl albums so far this year according to the Official Chart Company.

Thanks to the release of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody biopic, sales of the band’s Greatest Hits, which was first released in 1981, have soared, with 15,700 copies sold on vinyl alone.

Coming in a close second is Billie Eilish’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, which earned the young singer-songwriter the title of youngest ever female soloist to pick up a Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart in April. Eilish takes a second entry at Number 16 with her 2017 EP Don’t Smile At Me.

Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures comes in at Number 3 following the release of a remastered version to mark the album’s 40th anniversary. The record reached its highest ever position on the Official Albums Chart in June, re-entering at No. 5, having previously peaked at Number 71.

There’s a familiar look about the Top 20 vinyl albums thanks to enduring favourites such as Unknown Pleasures, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon, Nirvana’s Nevermind and Oasis’ (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? but, as well as Eilish, 2019 releases from the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Foals, Bruce Springsteen and The Specials have helped to add some new titles to the UK’s best sellers.
