‘I’ll Come Too’ remains a standout from his Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed fourth full-length, Assume Form, which is available now through Republic Records.

For the music video, Blake enlisted the talents of director Matt Meech – renowned for his work as an editor on the award-winning Planet Earth, Blue Planet, and more for the BBC.

Regarding the visual, Meech commented, “It was an honour to be invited onto the ‘I’ll Come Too’ project. James was keen to make a music video that involved animals in some way. Once I heard the beautiful track, I knew I had to be a part of it. I started my career editing music videos, twenty years ago, and music has always been a big part of my story-telling technique.”

Utilizing footage from Planet Earth II, the music video follows the fictional love story of unrequited love between a penguin and an albatross.

Meech added, “I remembered some footage that we didn’t use on Planet Earth II that I thought might be useful. Both birds look quirky, elegant and beautiful, the Albatrosses have an unusual mating dance, which the penguins watch from afar and the mysterious backdrop of the Snares Island, off the coast of Southern New Zealand, is a truly unique landscape.”

Blake captures a range of sonic influences throughout Assume Form, reuniting with Travis Scott and André 3000, and teaming up Metro Boomin, Moses Sumney and ROSALÍA. The new record follows the success of Blake’s three critically-acclaimed albums, 2010’s James Blake, 2013’s Overgrown, and 2016’s The Colour in Anything, which Blake as one of the most ground-breaking producers, singers, and songwriters of his generation.

Assume Form has clocked over 300 million cumulative streams to date and has been included on the “Best of 2019” lists for outlets including Time Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, Billboard, DJ Booth and Esquire.
