Sam Hunt has shared the music video for his new song ‘Hard To Forget.’ It arrives in the week that the track races 52-33 in its third week on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart. His previous single ‘Kinfolks’ recently completed its climb to No. 1 on that survey.

The ‘Hard To Forget’ clip is directed by Tim Mattia. It revolves around a cast of characters who take up residence at the low-brow Southside Motel. Hunt himself is among the tenants, and he takes us through his day, witnessing everything from a card game “gone sideways” and a down-on-his-luck clown to poolside partiers and a little girl dancing blissfully to the light-hearted track.

‘Hard To Forget,’ which samples Webb Pierce’s 1953 country staple ‘There Stands The Glass,’ made its radio debut as the most-added new song of the week recently. Like ‘Kinfolks,’ it will be included on Hunt’s upcoming follow-up to the massively successful 2014 debut Montevallo. The Southside album comes out on 3 April. ‘Kinfolks’ holds at No. 3 in its 23rd week on the country airplay chart, dipping 4-5 on Hot Country Songs.

Luke Laird, the co-writer of ‘Hard To Forget,’ recently told Rolling Stone: “I haven’t been this excited about a song in a long time. It makes people turn their heads. There will be some people who hate it, too. I want to be part of songs that get a reaction, one way or the other.”

Hunt had also announced the Southside Summer Tour 2020, featuring Kip Moore, Travis Denning, and ERNEST. As of last Thursday (19), the tour remains in place but with its first three dates rescheduled “in the interest of health and safety.”

The shows in question are Charlotte, NC (28 May), Raleigh, NC (29) and Bristow, VA (30). They’ve been moved to 1, 2 and 3 October respectively. All tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled dates. The tour is now due to begin in Alpharetta, GA on 11 June.

The Southside album is released on 3 April. Pre-order it here.
