Tickets for Culture Club’s Albert Hall event, billed as ‘Rainbow In The Dark – A Global Stream’, go on general sale at 10am on October 30.

Boy George said of the event, “It’s time to find a rainbow in the dark! Everyone is searching for new ways to connect, and music is our satellite. Living in such challenging times, we hope we can bring you optimism and hope through our music.”

Culture Club released their debut album, Kissing to Be Clever, in 1982, which featured the single “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me”. Colour By Numbers followed in 1983, selling more than 10 million copies worldwide.

Waking Up WIth The House On Fire followed in 1984, the same year Culture Club won Brit Awards for Best British Group, Best British Single (“Karma Chameleon”), and the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. They were nominated the same year for the Grammy Award for Pop Vocal by Group or Duo. The band were also nominated for a Canadian Juno Award for International Album of the Year.

The album From Luxury To Heartache was released in 1986, before they disbanded. Reforming in 1998, the band released Don’t Mind If I Do, in 1999. The band returned again in 2011 for live shows, and are still going strong.

Their latest full-length release arrived in the form of 2018’s Life, their sixth studio LP overall and first containing original material in nearly 20 years. They took the record on the road in the autumn of that year supported by Belinda Carlisle and Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey.

In March this year, George shared the new song “Clouds” from his forthcoming solo LP Geminis Don’t Read The Manual, though further details are still to be revealed.
