Hear HAIM’s Timely Holiday Tune, ‘Christmas Wrapping 2020 (All I Want for Christmas is a Vaccine)’

In true HAIM style, sisters Estee, Danielle, and Alana gifted fans with their first-ever holiday song: a witty, timely spin on The Waitresses’ 1981 new wave classic, “Christmas Wrapping.” The trio’s “Christmas Wrapping 2020 (All I Want for Christmas is a Vaccine)” recaps the year, covering everything from TikTok dance crazes to DIY hair-cuts, while also adding in a splash of Hanukkah magic.

The song’s clever lyrics were penned by the Tony-nominated actor and playwright Jeremy O. Harris. Musical contributions were also made by Thundercat (on bass), saxophonist Henry R. Solomon (who appears on “Summer Girl”), and longtime collaborator Buddy Ross (keyboards).

HAIM shared “Christmas Wrapping 2020 (All I Want for Christmas is a Vaccine)” across social media today, writing “Happy Hanukkah!!… We hope this song helps you get through the holiday season.”

2020 has been an eventful year for HAIM. After a months-long delay, amid the pandemic, the trio released their long-awaited third album, Women in Music Pt. III to widespread acclaim, with NPR, The Guardian, Pitchfork, and Stereogum, among others, all placing the title on their 50 Best Albums of 2020 lists.

The album was also embraced by fans – scoring the group their second No.1 record in the UK, and their third Top Ten LP in Australia. In the US, Women in Music Pt. III was also a success, landing at No.13 on the Billboard 200.

Capping off the year on a high note, HAIM received their first-ever Album of the Year Grammy nomination for Women in Music Pt. III. Additionally, the sisters received their first nod in the Best Rock Performance category for “The Steps.”

HAIM also appear on Taylor Swift’s latest album, Evermore, on track “No Body, No Crime.” The surprise release – and companion record to Folklore – dropped last week and features additional contributions from The National and Bon Iver.
