Elton John’s fourth studio album, Madman Across The Water, is one of the best albums he ever wrote. Certified two-times platinum in the US, it peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, staying on the tally for one week shy of a full year. Even without the benefit of what could be called a hit single (nothing charted above #24) it remains a fan favorite the world over.
