Elvis Costello and the Imposters will be heading out on tour this summer, following the January 2022 release of their latest album, The Boy Named If.

Several of the 15 stops across North America will reunite Costello with his frequent collaborator, Nick Lowe, as well as with Los Straitjackets, including at Toronto’s venerable Massey Hall, and at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas. The touring lineup will be a treat for longtime fans, as it marks Costello and Lowe’s first tour together since 1989. Along the way, psychedelic soul singer Nicole Atkins will also make an appearance, opening shows at Buffalo’s Artpark Amphitheater and at the Rose Music Center at The Heights in Huber Heights, OH.

“Pete Thomas, Steve Nieve, and I have been spinning around like your favorite 45rpm for 45 years, and let’s be clear, Davey Faragher isn’t anyone’s deputy,” declared Costello in a statement. “The Attractions could have no more made The Boy Named If than we have any desire to time travel back to the Seventies. This is happening right now in 2022, we are coming at you, big as life and twice as ugly.” Scroll down to view tour dates and visit Costello’s website for tickets and additional details.

Over the past decades, Costello and the Imposters have continued to release acclaimed albums, including their most recent title, The Boy Named If. The album peaked at No.6 on the UK Album’s Chart, where the band will begin touring in June.

”The full title of this record is The Boy Named If (And Other Children’s Stories). ‘IF,’ is a nickname for your imaginary friend; your secret self, the one who knows everything you deny, the one you blame for the shattered crockery and the hearts you break, even your own,” explained Costello in an earlier statement.
