Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile are officially confirmed as the headliners for this year’s Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival. The eighth annual event will be held on September 24 and 25 in Franklin, Tennessee.

Other performers on the lineup include recent Album of the Year Grammy winner (We Are) Jon Batiste, plus the Avett Brothers, Lake Street Dive, Elle King, Lennon Stella, Trampled by Turtles, Dawes, Better Than Ezra, Marty Stuart, Celisse, Adia Victoria, Jensen McRae, and many more. Tickets go on sale on April 21 at 10 a.m. local time, with more information available on Pilgrimage’s official website.

In recent years, the fest has expanded to include a range of genres – from rock to bluegrass, jazz, and more. “Pilgrimage music programming has grown in its first three years to six stages, 60+ musicians in a city many call home,” organizers noted on the festival’s website. “It serves great value and advantage to Pilgrimage that so many talented musicians and industry folks live in such close proximity. Pilgrimage always has surprises on stage that include guest appearances, acoustic performances, and unique pairings.”

Stapleton, who previously headlined Pilgrimage in 2018, has been quite busy this year. The singer-songwriter began 2022 by earning his second No.1 hit with “You Should Probably Leave” on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. From there, he performed at the 57th annual ACM Awards in March, where he took home the award for Male Artist of the Year. Stapleton also took the stage at the 64th annual Grammy Awards earlier this month, after being honored with Best Country Album (Starting Over), Best Country Song (“Cold”), and Best Country Solo Performance (“You Should Probably Leave”).

Carlile also performed at the Grammys this year, and received six nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Right On Time.” The poignant track served as the lead single from her seventh studio album, 2021’s In These Silent Days.

For fans who might not be able to catch Stapleton at Pilgrimage this year, he is currently on his All-American Road Show tour across North America. The extensive tour, which runs through August, includes stops in Los Angeles, Montreal, Chicago, and more.

Listen to the best of Chris Stapleton.
