Darius Rucker Releases New Song ‘I Believe’
The MCA release is Rucker’s first new music since his 2023 album ‘Carolyn’s Boy.’
Darius Rucker has released a new song, “I Believe,” via MCA, marking his first new music since his 2023 album Carolyn’s Boy. The three-time Grammy Award winner co-wrote the track with Eric Paslay, Wayne Hector and Steve Robson, who also produced it.

“I Believe” focuses on holding onto hope, love and truth during difficult periods. Rucker described the song as “my love letter to America” during a recent appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” where he performed an acoustic preview. “The way the world is, where we are right now – I believe in us,” he said. In a separate statement, Rucker said the song was about remembering what matters when circumstances make that difficult. “I believe in love. I believe in truth. I believe there’s always hope, and I believe in the people listening to this song,” he said.
In 2024, Rucker published the memoir Life’s Too Short through Dey Street. He first found commercial success as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish, who have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide. The band’s debut, Cracked Rear View, has been certified 22-times Platinum. Rucker began releasing country music as a solo artist in 2008 and has since earned 10 No. 1 singles at country radio and four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart. His solo catalog also includes 11 Gold, Platinum or multi-Platinum certified hits.
Rucker became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2012. Two years later, his recording of “Wagon Wheel” won the Grammy Award for Best Solo Country Performance; the song has since been certified 11-times Platinum and has passed one billion streams on Spotify. His annual Darius and Friends benefit concert and golf tournament, meanwhile, has raised more than $6.2 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
