Kassi Ashton Releases New Single ‘Chrome Pony’
The country singer co-wrote the track with Ryan Beaver and Jared Keim.
Kassi Ashton has released her new single “Chrome Pony,” her third new song of 2026 following “Bitches” and “Bratmobile.” Written by Ashton with Ryan Beaver and Jared Keim, the track arrives alongside an animated official music video created by London-based animator, illustrator, and director Alice Bloomfield. Ashton describes the song as part of a recent series of releases centered on empowerment and pushing through difficult experiences.

The “Chrome Pony” video turns that idea into a fantasy battle, depicting an animated version of Ashton as a sword-wielding faerie riding a Pegasus and fighting a succession of demons. “The music video had to be a girl slaying her demons, blood splatter on her face, running after the next one,” Ashton said. She added that the concept reflected how the song made her feel when she wrote it with Keim and Beaver, and that she hopes listeners will be “running and slaying just the same.”
Ashton has also connected “Chrome Pony” to the themes of her previous 2026 singles. “I’m sure you can tell from ‘Bitches’ and ‘Bratmobile’ that I’m in the season of empowerment,” she said. Rather than approaching that subject quietly, Ashton said she wanted to make something that encourages listeners “to not only get up, but to swing again.” The three songs follow her 2024 debut album, Made From The Dirt, which was expanded into the 15-track Made From The Dirt: The Blooms in 2025.
Ashton’s next scheduled appearance is Drake White’s Loblolly Festival in Gadsden, Alabama, on October 17. She is also working with producers Oscar Charles and Luke Laird on her second studio album, which is currently being completed.
