Eminem Celebrates 25 Years Of ’The Marshall Mathers LP’ With Vinyl Reissue
The reissue features two live bonus tracks: ‘The Real Slim Shady’ and ‘The Way I Am,’ captured at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

May 2025 marked the 25th anniversary of Eminem’s iconic third studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP. In celebration of that milestone, a new edition of the record has been reissued on vinyl, featuring two live bonus tracks, “The Real Slim Shady” and “The Way I Am,” captured at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
The Marshall Mathers LP debuted at number on the Billboard 200, and held the top spot for an impressive eight consecutive weeks. The record produced as much critical acclaim as it did public controversy, but no one could deny its impact on popular culture. Rolling Stone closed out 2000 by naming The Marshall Mathers LP the best album of the year. It went on to win Best Rap Album at the 2001 Grammys, though it lost Album of the Year to Steely Dan’s Two Against Nature. Today, the record is certified 12x platinum and Diamond by the RIAA.
The first half of the record was produced by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man, while the second half was produced by Eminem and Bass Brothers. The album spawned three majorly successful singles: “The Real Slim Shady,” “The Way I Am,” and “Stan.” The latter has arguably had the largest impact on modern music culture, as it gave its name to “stan culture” and “stans:” the devoted armies of fans propelling musicians of the modern era.
The album’s biggest hit, however, was “The Real Slim Shady.” The track was famously added to The Marshall Mathers LP at the last minute (mere hours before the album was due), having been concocted in response to concerns that record didn’t yet have a song that could repeat the impact of The Slim Shady LP’s “My Name Is.”
