Following ‘The Ville,’ Trap Dickey Shares ‘Highway’
The South Carolina rapper’s latest release follows his May mixtape ‘The Ville.’
Trap Dickey has released his new single “Highway.” The track follows the South Carolina rapper’s mixtape The Ville, which arrived in May. Built around a keyboard motif, tight hi-hats, and skittering 808s, the song pairs his rhythmic delivery with a chorus centered on independence and the company he keeps: “Ain’t got no time for middlemen ‘cause bosses hang with bosses.”

Earlier this year, Dickey announced his signing to Top Dawg Entertainment. The label’s roster and history include artists such as Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Doechii, Isaiah Rashad, and ScHoolboy Q. The announcement preceded a series of appearances for Dickey, who was named to the 2026 XXL Freshman Class. He performed a solo freestyle and took part in the publication’s Freshman Cypher. He also received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2026 BET Awards.
Among his other recent releases is “Down South,” a collaboration with Key Glock. The song appeared in the premiere episode of Netflix’s A Different World revival. Dickey’s collaborators have also included Rylo Rodriguez, BigXthaPlug, and YTB Fatt, while his live appearances have included performances alongside 50 Cent and Moneybagg Yo.
Dickey’s breakthrough came with “Blue Devils,” which later received an official remix featuring DaBaby. He has since performed on On The Radar and From The Block, appeared on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 livestream, and performed at Hot 107.9 ATL’s Who’s Hot showcase.
