The Game’s ‘Doctor’s Advocate’ Gets Two New Vinyl Variants
The 2006 album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The Game’s Doctor’s Advocate is returning in two new variants. The first is a color vinyl variant with an alternate cover. The second features a picture disc with an image of the Compton rapper carrying his young son on his shoulders. It offers collectors a new physical presentation of the 2006 album, whose title and music captured a turning point in the rapper’s career after his high-profile split from G-Unit and 50 Cent.

Released through Geffen Records on November 14, 2006, Doctor’s Advocate followed The Game’s multiplatinum debut, The Documentary. Without 50 Cent or Dr. Dre on the production, The Game framed the record as a statement of independence while maintaining the West Coast identity that had shaped his debut. Its production came from a broad roster that included Scott Storch, Just Blaze, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Hi-Tek and will.i.am.
The album’s singles included “It’s Okay (One Blood),” “Let’s Ride” and “Wouldn’t Get Far.” Its guest list brought together artists including Snoop Dogg, Nas, Nate Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit and Jamie Foxx. Doctor’s Advocate debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 358,000 copies sold in its first week, giving The Game a second consecutive chart-topping album. The 16-track set also includes “Why You Hate the Game,” a closing track featuring Nas. The record balanced major collaborations and radio singles with the account of an artist establishing himself apart from the crew that helped introduce him to a national audience.
The Game’s latest chapter arrived in August 2026 with The Documentary III, the third installment in the album series that began with his 2005 debut. The surprise release’s guests included Kanye West, Drake and Snoop Dogg, as well as a posthumous contribution from Drakeo the Ruler.
