‘Ultraviolence,’ Lana Del Rey’s follow-up to her hugely successful 2012 debut ‘Born To Die,’ will be with us soon. It’s out on June 16 in the UK and the following day internationally.

The Polydor release will be available in standard and deluxe versions, on CD, vinyl and digitally. The Collector’s Box edition will include a deluxe picture disc LP on heavyweight vinyl, a CD digipack and four large-scale, 12” x 12” art prints.

The album is produced by Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys, who’s quoted by the NME as saying that he and Del Rey recorded the whole project in two weeks. “She impressed me every day,” he says. “There were moments when she was fighting me. I could sense that maybe she didn’t want to have anybody think she wasn’t in control, because I’m sure it’s really hard to be a woman in the music business. So we bumped heads a little bit, but at the end of the day we were dancing to the songs.”

The current single from the album, ‘West Coast,’ debuted on the UK singles chart at No. 21 on Sunday (June 1), while the ‘Born To Die’ album climbed again, 51-41, in its 122nd chart week. The debut set sold 3.4 million copies worldwide in 2012 alone, according to IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) figures, and global shipments are now estimated at seven million.
