Reba Returns With Faith & Hope
Country queen Reba McEntire will release the new gospel album Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope on 3 February, 2017 on Big Machine/Universal. Her 28th studio release, it follows Love Somebody, which came out in April 2015 and became her latest US country chart-topper.
McEntire, whose career album sales total some 56 million, says of the upcoming record:
“Sing It Now was the perfect title for this album because the message and melody throughout the song connects the dots between the traditional hymns I grew up on and new music that has been uplifting for me in challenging times.”
The two-disc set will feature Reba’s versions of traditional hymns of “faith” on the first CD, and more contemporary tracks of “hope” on the second. She co-produced it with Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, in his home studio, and band leader and musical director Doug Sisemore.
Sing It Now includes guest appearances by Kelly Clarkson and Trisha Yearwood on ‘Softly and Tenderly,’ and opens with her new arrangement of ‘Jesus Loves Me,’ which was the first song she ever sang in public. “Music conjures up great memories and goes hand and hand with us McEntires,” adds Reba. “Mama, Susie and Alice even came into the studio with me to record ‘I’ll Fly Away.’”
The album release precedes McEntire’s return to the UK and Ireland to headline the Country to Country music festival in March 2017, in London, Glasgow and Dublin.
