Kiesza Not Hiding Away
Canadian pop-dance artist Kiesza, whose Lokal Legend/Virgin EMI debut single ‘Hideaway’ was a chart sensation in the spring, going to No. 1 in the UK and Holland, has announced her follow-up release. ‘Giant In My Heart’ will be out on August 11.
‘Hideaway’ became the UK’s fastest-selling single of the year to date when it moved 136,000 downloads in its first week, and YouTube views for its video currently stand at some 33 million. As with ‘Hideaway’, the video for ‘Giant In My Heart’ features Kiesza’s signature dance moves, capturing the spirit of such New York clubs as Body & Soul and Libation, but with a contemporary street dance edge to it.
25-year-old Kiesza, a trained ballet dancer, has now relocated to London’s East End to live and immersed herself in the city’s dance scene. She’ll play at Glastonbury on June 27, followed by numerous other UK and European festival dates during July, including Wireless (July 4), T In The Park (12), Lovebox (18), and Mallorca Rocks (29).
