Alice Cooper, Joe Perry Supergroup Hollywood Vampires Announce UK Shows

February 7, 2018

Hollywood Vampires, the legendary LA supergroup involving Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry have announced details of a four-date UK tour for June 2018. Making their live debut in the UK, the band will be joined by fellow hard rock veterans The Darkness and The Damned. Tickets for the shows will be available from 9am on Friday, 9 February.

Hollywood Vampires began in the 1970s on the Sunset Strip at the Rainbow Bar & Grill’s upstairs bar, and the ad hoc outfit has welcomed a rotation of stars passing through LA throughout the years.

“To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members,” said founder Alice Cooper. “I would walk in on a typical night and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon - who would usually be in a costume like a maid or a chauffeur - (Elton John lyricist) Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz would be there. The next week might be Bernie Taupin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz.”

Speaking of what fans can expect from the tour, Johnny Depp warned that: “there will be rumbling in ears and there might be blood trickling out of one ear,” while Joe Perry added: “I don’t say things like this often, but this band is (bleeping) good,”

Elsewhere in Hollywood Vampires news, rumours recently surfaced – and continue to persist - that Johnny Depp may be joining his friend Marilyn Manson’s band as guitarist. The shock-rock icon is known for his close friendship with the acting icon, and last year enlisted him to star in the dark and twisted video for album track ‘KILL4ME’. Now, Manson has hinted that Depp could become a full time member of his band, after claiming that he is “considering” a role.” As yet, however, the rumours have neither been confirmed nor denied.

Hollywood Vampires play the following UK dates:

16 June: Birmingham, Genting Arena
17 June: Manchester, Arena
19 June: Glasgow, SSE Hydro
20 June: London, Wembley SSE Arena.
