Beyoncé and Donald Glover duet on the classic track ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ in a new teaser for the highly-anticipated The Lion King remake by Disney.

The beloved 1994 Disney animated film is getting a reboot, with Jon Favreau directing the new CGI feature that’s set to hit theatres 19 July.

Rapper, singer, actor and overall renaissance man Donald Glover will be playing the part of Simba, while Beyoncé will voice his childhood friend, Nala. The two’s rendition of the classic track by Elton John and Tim Rice is already whipping fans into a frenzy. While only a short snippet of the song has been shared, the two can be heard harmonising perfectly, with Beyoncé letting Glover’s voice complement hers without overpowering the song.

This new duet offers a rare opportunity to hear a new side of Glover’s voice that’s a far cry from his musical persona, Childish Gambino.

Along with the two music icons, Favreau has assembled an all-star cast that includes James Earle Jones, reprising his role as the voice of Mufasa, Simba’s father and the patriarch of the lion pride, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon, Simba’s sidekicks and Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villain Scar.

The big budget remake will feature all of the iconic tracks of the original film along with a few new additions, including ‘Shadowland’, a dramatic ballad from the Broadway musical adaptation that’s being added to the film.

The Lion King is just one of the huge Disney blockbusters that are out this summer. Another 90s classic, Aladdin returned to the big screen with a live action version starring Will Smith, while Toy Story 4 hits theatres today (20 June).
