Bob Seger Announces 2017 Runaway Train Summer Tour

Published on

Bob Seger Tour

This year is shaping up to be the summer of Seger. Detroit’s prodigal son, Bob Seger already sold out his Pine Knob show in Michigan in a record nine minutes and will be bringing his Silver Bullet Band on the road this summer as part of his Runaway Train Tour.

The tour kicks off on 24 August, with arena and amphitheater dates scheduled for Boston, Detroit, Columbus, Atlanta and Dallas, with additional dates and venues set for Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis and more.

Tickets officially go on sale starting Friday, 9 June and Bob Seger fan club members will have special access to purchase tickets in advance. Seger will also be joined by fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Nancy Wilson of Heart on select dates on the tour.

Bob-Seger-Vinyl

The tour announcement comes just one day before Seger’s 1994 double LP, Greatest Hits is due out on vinyl, along with his 1969 major label debut studio album, Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man on 2 June. In addition to being issued on 150-gram and 180-gram black vinyl, a limited edition 150-gram purple-coloured vinyl of the Greatest Hits will also be offered exclusively through BobSeger.com.

Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man is also getting the colour vinyl treatment, with a special edition blue-colored vinyl out on 9 June. Seger hit another milestone this week, with his Greatest Hits being certified diamond by the RIAA for achieving 10 million units in the US.

Seger also shared a tour teaser video on social media earlier this week, set to his 1973 hit, ‘Turn The Page’ that was famously covered by Metallica. With wording such as ‘One last time”, it has left fans to speculate whether this upcoming tour will be the final one of his career.
