The Damned have rescheduled their UK tour, originally booked for July 2021, by moving the dates to February 2022.
Drummer Rat Scabies (real name Christopher Millar) and guitarist Brian James will be appearing on stage with the group for the first time in over 25 years. Lead singer Dave Vanian remains the only constant band member.
The tour setlist will draw upon the trailblazing punk quartet’s first two albums, Damned Damned Damned and Music For Pleasure, the latter of which was produced by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason.
The current incarnation of the legendary punks released their first album in a decade, Evil Spirits, in 2018, and last performed live the following year at the London Palladium. They also released an EP, ‘The Rockfield Files’, through Search & Destroy/Spinefarm Records in October 2020. The EP features last recordings with long-time drummer Pinch, who departed The Damned after their legendary show at The London Palladium at Halloween 2019.
For the first time, Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Rammstein, Ghost) took over the production duties for the EP. Dalgety also mixed the tracks at his studio in Bath. ‘The Rockfield Files EP’ was released on October 16. It includes four new tracks and will be available in black and psychedelic swirl limited-edition vinyl.
Original tickets for The Damned’s newly rescheduled dates remain valid, and tickets are still on sale for all the shows.
The Damned’s original line-up will now play the following shows:
