Eminem makes a guest appearance on the collaborative track ‘Rainy Days’ featuring his latest protégé Boogie.
The Compton rapper signed to Shady Records back in 2017 after a string of viral hits including ‘Bitter Raps’ and ‘Oh My’.
The dark visuals match the moody trap track, with Boogie and Em appearing in a graffiti-scrawled space as a storm rages over their heads and blood starts running down the walls reminiscent of The Shining.
The melodic rapper alternates verses and a chorus, singing “I need changes in a major way, a way/I just pray I never fade away, away”.
‘Rainy Days’ is featured on Boogie’s debut album Everything’s For Sale that was released last month.
When Eminem signed the buzzed-about newcomer, he shared his excitement over his find saying, “Boogie is everything I look for in an MC. Unique voice and point of view combined with crazy wordplay. This is a great fit and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
Everything’s For Sale also features an array for guests including J.I.D, 6LACK, Snoh Aalegra and Christian Scott.
The Cali-bred rapper’s debut has been described as “smart, technically dazzling, and thoroughly sullen” by Pitchfork while XXL writes: “Boogie is warring with his reflection, and his bedroom mirror has been dragged out on the front lawn for everyone to see”.
Similar to his fellow Compton rappers Kendrick Lamar and Vince Staples, Boogie doesn’t pull any punches and trades in braggadocio for raw honesty.
The rising hip-hop star also recently announced his Everything’s For Sale Tour to promote the new album, with dates currently in Australia before heading to the states on 25 April in Chicago before wrapping up on 23 June at the Firefly Festival in Dover, Delaware.
