Shallow, the first song released from the motion picture soundtrack to A Star Is Born, is now available on Interscope Records. Written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt and performed by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, Shallow was Zane Lowe’s World Record today on Apple Music’s Beats 1 and you can watch the video for the song above.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, the official motion picture soundtrack to A Star Is Born features new music from its principle stars, six-time Grammy Award-winner Lady Gaga and the film’s director, four time Oscar-nominated Bradley Cooper (American Sniper, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) The soundtrack is due for release through Interscope Records on 5 October, the same day the film opens.
Featuring 19 songs in a wide range of musical styles, and 15 dialogue tracks featuring those moments that will take listeners on a journey that mirrors the experience of seeing the film, the soundtrack to A Star Is Born follows the musical arc and romantic journey of the movie’s two lead characters: Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine, and Lady Gaga’s Ally. The film also stars Andrew Dice Clay, with Dave Chappelle and Sam Elliott. All the music is original and was recorded live. In addition to playing Ally, Gaga, who earned her Oscar nod for the song ‘Til It Happens to You’ from The Hunting Ground, also performs original songs she wrote with Cooper and the likes of Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson.
A Star is Born has been produced by Bill Gerber, Jon Peters, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips and Lynette Howell Taylor; with Basil Iwanyk, Michael Rapino, Heather Parry and Ravi Mehta serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Will Fetters & Bradley Cooper and Eric Roth, based on the 1954 screenplay by Moss Hart and the 1976 screenplay by John Gregory Dunne & Joan Didion and Frank Pierson, based on a story by William Wellman and Robert Carson.
