Obskür have released their new single “Speechless” today via Disorder / Capitol Records. The track finds the Dublin house duo working with hypnotic vocals and a deeper, slower production style while retaining the club-focused approach of their recent material.

The pair said the song came together unusually quickly after they received the vocal rather than recording it during an in-person studio session. “They reminded us of something you’d hear on a deep house record and it made us want to make something a bit deeper and slower to our usual productions. Sometimes it’s the simplest processes that work best,” Obskür said.

“Speechless” follows recent Obskür releases including “Look Into My Eyes” and “Serious,” the latter made with OMAR+. Their catalog also includes “Bayside,” one of the tracks that helped bring the pair wider attention, and “I’ve Arrived,” which has surpassed 35 million Spotify streams according to the duo’s press materials.

Lorcan and Faustas launched the Obskür project in 2019 after meeting more than a decade ago and spending years making music together. Their earlier output also includes a widely circulated edit of Clara La San’s “Let You Go,” while their remix work has included releases for Barbara Tucker and Dom Dolla. Touring has become another major part of the project, with the duo playing Warehouse Project, holding a residency at Amnesia in Ibiza and headlining a 5,000-capacity hometown show in Dublin. Their next run of dates includes October shows in London, Amsterdam and Brighton. During Amsterdam Dance Event, Obskür will also bring their live concept The System back to Shelter.
