Post Malone is back at the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 Albums chart with his latest record, Hollywood’s Bleeding.
Released on 6 September, Hollywood’s Bleeding is Malone’s second No. 1, following 2018’s beerbongs & bentleys.
The album also delivered the biggest streaming week for an album in 2019 with 365.4 million-plus on-demand audio streams, reports Billboard.
Hollywood’s Bleeding has also earned platinum certification as its global consumption exceeds 3.9 million total adjusted albums and 6.4 billion streams.
Much of the album’s commercial success can be attributed to a string of smash singles, including the No.1 hit ‘Sunflower’ featuring Swae Lee from the film Into The Spider-Verse to ‘Wow’ at No.2, ‘Goodbyes’, featuring Young Thug at No.3 and ‘Circles’ at No.7.
The new album marks a departure for Malone, but the gamble has paid off, with the album garnering critical acclaim. It also boasts a number of diverse collaborators including SZA, Kanye West, Young Thug, Swae Lee, Father John Misty, Travis Scott and even Ozzy Osbourne.
“I’m making things work in a way that I don’t want to alienate fans of my music but at the same time I want to do something weird and funky,” Post said in an interview with Zane Lowe. “I think this record, the new record is something super epic and I think it’s really cool. I think I’m really catching a groove and just giving the best I can.”
The singer-rapper also recently announced the line-up for his second annual Posty Fest on 2 November at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Pharrell Williams, Meek Mill and Rae Sremmurd are all confirmed as headliners along with Malone and Jaden Smith, Doja Cat, Dominic Fike, Beach Fossils and Yella Breezy.
Malone just kicked off his Runaway Tour in support of the album this past weekend, playing Washington’s Tacoma Dome, and will continue on the road through 20 November.
