Reba McEntire will launch another concert special from her archive on YouTube on Friday (26). Thanks to popular demand, the 1990 show Reba In Concert will be available digitally for the first time, after the success of last month’s airing of the Reba: Live concert from 1994. More than 100,000 fans watched that show in its first three days on YouTube.
The concert was filmed at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on October 18 that year. It includes some of the country superstar’s most popular material, such as “Fancy,” “You Lie” and “Whoever’s In New England.” It stands as a dedication to Reba’s original band members, who played with her on the special, and who tragically lost their lives in a plane crash the following year.
The show features 16 songs and will premiere at 7.30pm CT. As with the Reba: Live event, McEntire will celebrate the airing with her fans on her YouTube channel. She has also shared a teaser trailer:
“This show is very special to me,” says Reba, “because it features my friends that we lost in a plane crash 29 years ago. Their love for music and incredible talents deserve to be seen again, and I’m so glad that we’re getting the chance to stream this concert for the first time ever. I can’t wait to watch it and I hope they will feel all the love we still have for them.”
McEntire’s Rumor Has It album is to be reissued to mark its 30th anniversary, in various formats, on MCA Nashville on September 11. The set included four Top 10 hits in the title song, “You Lie,” “Fallin’ Out Of Love” and “Fancy.” The anniversary edition vinyl will include a bonus live acoustic version of “Fancy” recorded at the Ryman Auditorium. The CD and digital versions will feature that and a new dance remix of “Fancy.”
The 30th anniversary editions of Rumor Has It are released on September 11. Pre-order them here.
