Selena Gomez and DJ Snake have scored a Top Ten hit on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart with “Selfish Love.” The bilingual single, which debuted at No.6 this week, appears on Gomez’s first Spanish-language EP, Revelación.

“Selfish Love” marks the duo’s second collaboration, following 2018’s “Taki Taki.” The latter track, which also featured contributions from Ozuna and Cardi B, was certified 4x platinum by the RIAA, while its video has since surpassed 2 billion views.

“Selena and I had been talking and after ‘Taki Taki’ we had to give the world another round with fresh summer vibes. Something that made it feel like summer the first time you heard it,” said DJ Snake in an earlier statement. “‘Selfish Love’ came very naturally for us and I think it’s the perfect evolution for our history together.”

The effervescent dance track marks the third single off Revelación, following “De Una Vez” and the Rauw Alejandro collaboration, “Baila Conmigo.” The song’s accompanying video, which takes place in a supernatural salon, has been streamed more than 11 million times since its premiere on March 4.

The highly-anticipated, seven-track Revelación, meanwhile, arrived last Friday to wide critical acclaim. Rolling Stone called it “a captivating flirtation with the Latin music world,” while the NME hailed the EP as “suitably jubilant.”

Produced by Latin music titans Tainy (Bad Bunny, J Balvin) and NEON16, Revelación found Gomez celebrating her cultural roots. Speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, she explained, “This has been something I’ve wanted to do for ten years, working on a Spanish project, because I’m so, so proud of my heritage, and just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen.”

She continued, “I feel like it’s the perfect timing. Just with all the division in the world, there’s something about Latin music that globally just makes people feel things, you know?”

She added, “I want everyone to enjoy the music, but I am targeting my fan base. I’m targeting my heritage, and I couldn’t be more excited.”
