Spice Girls’ ‘Say You’ll Be There’ Top Of The Pops Performance Debuts On YouTube
The 1996 clip arrives with the upcoming box set ‘The Singles Collection.’
In October of 1996, the Spice Girls made their second of many appearances on Top of the Pops to perform their new single, “Say You’ll Be There.” Thirty years later, that performance is officially available to watch on YouTube for the first time ahead of the release of the upcoming box set The Singles Collection.

In the Top of the Pops performance, the members are wearing the same outfits they don in “Say You’ll Be There’s” desert-set music video. The group had made their first appearance on the chart show only months earlier with the release of their debut single “Wannabe,” and would continue to promote new singles on the show through 2000.
“Say You’ll Be There” was the Spice Girls’ second UK number one, while it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. The track is now certified 2x platinum in the UK and gold in the US.
In 2022, David Beckham shared a clip of Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, and Melanie Chilsom singing along to the hit at Geri Halliwell’s 50th birthday party. While Mel B wasn’t in attendance, David added in the caption that she was missed.
“Say You’ll Be There” will be included in the new Spice Girls compilation set The Singles Collection, available in both color vinyl and CD. The Singles Collection brings together the singles, original artwork, B-sides, and previously unreleased recordings from the Spice Girls archive in a handbag-inspired box, finished in white holographic gloss and maC black foil. Both formats include 14 individual discs, one for each single and its paired B-side. They additionally come with a 28-page booklet featuring brand-new messages from all five Spice Girls.
The box set is available to order and is set to ship on November 6th, 30 years to the week since debut album SPICE turned the group into a global phenomenon.
