Stevie Wonder’s Hits Are Back, Definitively

Published on

Universal Music has remastered Stevie Wonder’s career retrospective ‘Stevie Wonder: The Definitive Collection’ to mark what is set to be a major period of new appreciation for the Motown superstar. The album features a wealth of his greatest hits, from ‘Fingertips (Part Two)’ and subsequent 1960s hits like ‘I Was Made To Love Her’ and ‘My Cherie Amour’ to later classics including ‘You Are The Sunshine Of My Life,’ ‘Living For The City’, ‘Sir Duke’ and ‘Part Time Lover.’

The remastering marks Stevie’s appearance as guest of honour at a glittering tribute to him at the Grammy Awards next month. The Recording Academy, AEG Ehrlich Ventures and CBS will present the primetime, two-hour special ‘Stevie Wonder: Songs In The Key Of Life — An All-Star Grammy Salute.’ Chris Martin of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Usher, Janelle Monáe and Willie Nelson will all take part.

Last year, Universal Music made 16 of Wonder’s albums available for high-resolution audio at iTunes and other online retailers to commemorate his autumn tour on which he played the entire ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ album. Added to the previously available 11, the total of Stevie albums available as MFiT releases through Universal Music now reaches 27 of his 30-album catalogue.
