Ashley Campbell’s Favourite Glen Songs

Published on

As a complement to our Glen Campbell In 20 Songs playlist, here’s the chance to listen to his singer-songwriter daughter Ashley, talking about growing up around Glen’s music and choosing three all-time favourites from his catalogue.

Ashley tells uDiscover’s Paul Sexton about what it was like to grow up as the daughter of Glen Campbell, and how she came to admire his work while also listening to many other styles of music. “Whenever people tell me ‘Oh, I love your dad, I love his music, it’s on such a deep, personal level,” she says, “and that’s very touching.”

Now making her own debut album for Dot Records, part of the Big Machine Label Group, Campbell introduced it with the single ‘Remembering,’ inspired by her relationship with her father, from the soundtrack of the documentary I’ll Be Me. Last month, she played at the Country to Country Festival in London to great appreciation.

In this audio clip, she also talks about three of the tracks from Glen’s vast songbook that have meant the most to her over the years, which you can hear in our mini-playlist below.
