The Spice Girls are the best female group ever, I have listened to their music over and over again for years and they were actually very good singers, all of them, their music was catchy, great to dance to, sexy as, to this day I have never ever gotten tired of their music and guess what I am not a young person.
Destiny’s Child deserves so much more the 1st place : great (live) singers Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, also great dancers, able to write their songs. Plus the fact that the 3 have actually a very decent and respectabler solo carreer and still sisters. They represent a DREAM <3

They are legends.
Someone above mentioned Destiny’s Child having solo careers being a reason for them being #1. You can’t scoff at the girls solo achievements to be fair. They all had solo hits and achieved 8 solo #1’s between them and 36 top 20 hits as well as all having Gold and Platinum selling solo albums. In the UK alone the girls sold 20 million records combined. Obviously they never lived up to the phenomenal success of the band (unlike Beyonce who outshone her band easily), but they did pretty well away from the group and have all branched out into other areas of success too.
If your talking about girls groups where they actually played instruments then you want to include – The Go-Go’s, The Bangles, Girlschool, The Runaways, Babes in Toyland, Dixie Chicks, The Donnas, The Raincoats, and The Slits. Just vocals you could add Bananarama and Wilson Phillips,
