Snow Patrol and Bastille have been confirmed for the 2019 TRNSMT Festival. Running from 12 to 14 July, this year’s festival at Glasgow Green is set to be headlined by Stormzy, Catfish & The Bottlemen and George Ezra, while other artists including Richard Ashcroft, Gerry Cinnamon, Sigrid, Jess Glynne, Sam Fender, The Kooks and The Wombats are also on the bill.

The festival teased the line-up yesterday, 18 February, with a Facebook live feed that allowed fans to piece together the line-up via cryptic song lyrics.

Last year’s event saw Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Liam Gallagher, and Queen+Adam Lambert play the festival.

Speaking last year about securing the Monkeys’ exclusive UK festival appearance, TRNSMT boss Geoff Ellis told the BBC that it wasn’t a difficult task. “They’ve always had a good relationship with Scotland and Scottish audiences.

“We didn’t have to twist their arms to do it but you go through the general negotiations to a get headliner as you would do anyway,” he said.

The following acts are also on the bill for the 2019 TRSMT edition: The Hunna, Steve Mason, Jade Bird, Fontaines D.C., DMA’s, Sundara Karma, The Snuts, Circa Waves, Mystery Jets, Cavetown, The Dunts, Arkells, Skinny Lister, SWMRS, Catherine McGrath, Sea Girls, Retro Video Club, and Whenyoung. Further acts are also likely to be announced.

The TRNSMT organisers have received criticism for presenting an all-male bill, since the festival headliners were announced, but Geoff Ellis has responded in an NME interview:

“We try to have more females on the bill. Jess Glynne is a big artist and she’s there”, Ellis said. “Would I prefer to have more female artists on the bill? Yes. But it’s also about developing female artists to make them into headliners. We had Sigrid on the King Tut’s last year, but we’ve now upgraded her to the main stage,” he added.

Tickets for TRNSMT go on sale from Friday, 22 February.  For further information, please visit the festival’s official website.
