Taylor Swift Details New Album ‘Lover’ And Teases New Single
After months of anticipation following the release of her recent single ME!’, Taylor Swift finally revealed her seventh studio album titled ‘Lover’, is coming 23 August.
After months of anticipation following the release of her recent single ME!’, Taylor Swift finally revealed her seventh studio album titled Lover, that’s set for release 23 August.
The album will be available as four collectable CD versions featuring various bonus content, similar to the limited edition versions that Swift offered for her Reputation release that included Swift magazines and rare photos.
In addition to the album, Swift also teased a Lover-inspired collaboration with UK fashion designer Stella McCartney.
According to the live stream announcement she made earlier today, Swift’s recent single ‘ME!’ featuring Panic! At the Disco’s Brendon Urie will be included on Lover, along with a forthcoming single, ‘You Need to Calm Down’, that dropped at midnight on Thursday. Subsequently, the expected single’s companion music video will be released on Monday, 17 June.

The tone of the album will be heavily romantic, as Swift explained at the time of the announcement, and will include 18 tracks, her longest album to date.
“It’s all love songs or something because I think that the idea of being romantic, it doesn’t have to be a happy song,” explained Swift.
“I think you can find romance in loneliness or sadness or going through conflict or dealing with things in your life. I think it just looks at these things with a very romantic gaze.”
But it’s not all love and roses on the new release, Lover will also be political in nature. Historically, Swift has been reticent to share her political opinions up until last year, when she publicly endorsed two Democratic candidates running in the Tennessee midterm elections.
In more recent news, just this month, Swift disclosed a copy of a letter she wrote to urge the Tennessee Senator to support the Equality Act. This bill is aimed at preventing employers from discriminating against anyone based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
