With the record’s upcoming 14 February release date getting closer, Kevin Parker shared a moody, six-minute, emotional slow jam that pays tribute to his late father, who died back in 2009.

“Ever since I was a small boy / No one else compared to you, no way / I always thought heroes stay close / Whenever troubled times arose,” he sings.

On ‘Posthumous Forgiveness’, Tame Impala drift even further away from their early rock roots, venturing deeper into trippy, synth-driven, studio experimentation.

‘Posthumous Forgiveness’ is the third single off The Slow Rush, that was preceded by ‘It Might Be Time’ and ‘Borderline.’ The band also recently announced tour dates next year alongside Clairo and MGMT.

The band were also announced as the first headliners for next summer’s All Points East festival, with Parker and company playing London’s Victoria Park on Saturday, 23 May for what will most likely be their first UK appearance in support of the new record.

After revealing the new record faced a number of delays, Parker opened up about the status of The Slow Rush saying: “There are all sorts of excuses I could serve you but it basically all comes down to me hating the idea of giving you anything that isn’t the best my entire heart and soul and brain can give. But I’m so f__king relieved the day has finally come that I can give you a date, I guess you are too…”

Along with a number of US tour dates announced, the band will also be heading to Mexico City on 19 March 2020 for their performance at Foro Sol. The Slow Rush follows the outfits last studio album, Currents that was released back in 2015.

The Slow Rush is set for release on 14 February and can be pre-ordered here.
