Neil Diamond Announces Global ‘Sweet Caroline’ Singalong
The celebrated singer-songwriter is readying to release his new album with The London Symphony Orchestra, ‘Classic Diamonds.’
Legendary songwriter and vocalist Neil Diamond is calling upon his fans to participate in a massive singalong of his beloved hit, “Sweet Caroline.” The challenge, which will result in a video featuring submissions from around the globe, runs alongside the release of the artist’s forthcoming album, Classic Diamonds, with the London Symphony Orchestra.
From November 20 to December 4, fans can upload footage of themselves singing along to “Sweet Caroline” to the official submission page. A video compilation of highlights will be released on December 11. Additionally, fans on TikTok should keep an eye out for a “Sweet Caroline” challenge that will run in conjunction with the singalong.

Released in 1969, “Sweet Caroline” endures as one of Diamond’s signature tunes, and one of his biggest hits. While the song remains a staple on radio waves, “Sweet Caroline” has also become a popular anthem at sporting events – from baseball (Boston Red Sox) to football (Carolina Panthers), and beyond.
Last year, the song was added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
“Sweet Caroline” is one of 14 hits that Diamond reinterprets, alongside the renowned London Symphony Orchestra, on Classic Diamonds. Available November 20 via Capitol, the album was recorded at London’s world-famous Abbey Road Studios, as well as at Diamond’s studio in Los Angeles, and features such timeless classics as “I’m a Believer,” “America,” “Love on the Rocks,” and “Heartlight.”
A Kennedy Center honoree, Diamond has long been recognized for his contributions to the American musical canon. In addition to being inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2011, Diamond received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Diamond remains one of the best-selling songwriters of all-time, having scored ten No.1 Billboard Hot 100 hits and 38 Top Ten hits on the Adult Contemporary chart. To date, he has sold over 130 million albums worldwide.
